Terms and Conditions for Ramble
Last Updated: [16th March 2026]
1. About These Terms
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Ramble (ramble.cam), including the Chrome extension, the web dashboard at app.ramble.cam, and any associated services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by CALMTECH LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [16165000]), whose registered office is at [483 Green Lanes, London, N13 4BS] ("we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and references to "you" include that organisation.
Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree with them, you should not use the Service.
2. The Service
Ramble is a screen and webcam recording platform. It allows you to record, upload, process, store, and share video recordings. The Service consists of a Chrome browser extension for recording and a web-based dashboard for managing and sharing your recordings.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of any material changes, but we are not obliged to maintain any particular feature.
3. Accounts
3.1 Registration
To use most features of the Service you must create an account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3.2 Eligibility
The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 18 and using the Service, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or guardian.
3.3 Organisations and Teams
If you create or join an organisation on Ramble, the administrator of that organisation may have the ability to access, manage, and delete content within the organisation's workspace. You should only upload content to an organisation's workspace that you are comfortable sharing with other members of that organisation.
4. Plans and Pricing
4.1 Free Tier
We offer a free personal tier with limited storage and features. We reserve the right to modify the limits and features of the free tier at any time with reasonable notice.
4.2 Paid Plans
Paid plans offer additional storage, features, and team functionality. Details of available plans and their pricing are set out on our pricing page at ramble.cam. We may change our prices from time to time. For existing subscribers, price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing period following at least 30 days' notice.
4.3 Team Plans
Team plans allow an unlimited number of users within an organisation. Team plans include additional storage and features. Pricing for team plans is set out on our pricing page.
4.4 Storage Add-Ons
If you require additional storage beyond what your plan includes, you may purchase storage add-ons. These are billed separately and details are available on our pricing page.
4.5 Storage Limits
Each plan has a storage allowance. If you reach your storage limit, you will not be able to create new recordings until you either delete existing content or upgrade to a plan with a higher storage allowance, unless we agree otherwise.
5. Free Trials
We may offer a 7-day free trial of paid plan features. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged at the applicable rate. You may cancel your trial at any time during the 7-day period at no cost.
If payment details are required at the start of the trial, you will be informed before providing them.
6. Billing and Payment
6.1 Subscription Billing
Paid plans are available on a monthly or annual billing cycle. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis at the start of each billing period.
6.2 Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend your access to paid features until the payment is successfully processed. We will notify you of any payment failures.
6.3 Taxes
All prices are exclusive of VAT and other applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase based on your jurisdiction.
7. Cancellation and Refunds
7.1 Cancellation by You
You may cancel your paid plan at any time through the dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the end of that period.
7.2 Statutory Cooling-Off Period
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of subscribing, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you have used the Service during this period and explicitly requested that the Service begin before the cooling-off period expired, you may be charged a proportionate amount for the service used up to the point of cancellation. To exercise this right, contact us at support@ramble.cam.
7.3 No Further Refunds
Outside of the statutory cooling-off period described in section 7.2, payments are non-refundable. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
7.4 Effect of Cancellation on Content
When your paid plan ends (whether by cancellation, non-renewal, or downgrade), your recordings and associated data will be retained for a grace period of 30 days. During this grace period, you may reactivate a paid plan to regain full access, or download/delete your content. After the 30-day grace period, your content will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
If you are on the free tier, your content will remain accessible subject to the free tier's storage limits. If your content exceeds the free tier allowance after downgrading, you will need to delete content to come within the limit before you can create new recordings.
7.5 Cancellation by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service poses a risk to us, other users, or third parties. Where possible, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy any breach before termination. In the event of termination for cause, we are not obliged to offer a refund.
8. Your Content
8.1 Ownership
You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you record, upload, or create using the Service ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
8.2 Licence to Us
By uploading or recording content through the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process (including transcoding, transcription, and thumbnail generation), reproduce, and distribute Your Content solely as necessary to operate, maintain, and provide the Service to you and those you choose to share it with. This licence continues for as long as Your Content is stored on the Service and terminates when Your Content is deleted from our systems (including any retention period set out in our Privacy Policy).
8.3 Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent and warrant that:
(a) you own or have the necessary rights, licences, and permissions to upload and share Your Content through the Service;
(b) Your Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party;
(c) Your Content does not contain anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or otherwise objectionable;
(d) where Your Content includes recordings of other people, you have obtained their consent to be recorded and to have that recording processed and shared through the Service.
8.4 Prohibited Content
You must not use the Service to record, upload, store, or share:
(a) content that is illegal under the laws of England and Wales or the jurisdiction in which you are located;
(b) content that depicts or promotes child sexual abuse or exploitation;
(c) content that incites violence, hatred, or discrimination;
(d) malware, viruses, or other harmful code;
(e) content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others;
(f) unsolicited bulk communications or spam.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms and to suspend or terminate the accounts of repeat offenders.
9. Sharing and Privacy
9.1 Default Privacy
All recordings are private by default. A recording is only accessible to you (and, where applicable, members of your organisation) unless you choose to share it.
9.2 Shared Links
You may generate a shareable link to make a recording accessible to anyone who has the link. Recordings shared in this way are not publicly listed or discoverable through search. You are responsible for controlling who you share links with. Once you share a link, we cannot control who the recipient may forward it to.
9.3 Revoking Access
You may revoke a shared link at any time by changing the recording's privacy settings or deleting the recording.
10. Abuse and Takedown
If you believe that content shared via Ramble violates these Terms, infringes your rights, or is otherwise unlawful, you may report it to us at abuse@ramble.cam. Please include:
(a) a description of the content and why you believe it violates these Terms or the law;
(b) the URL or link to the content, if available;
(c) your contact information.
We will review reports promptly and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and suspending or terminating the uploader's account. We are not obligated to notify the uploader before taking action where the content is clearly unlawful.
11. AI Processing
The Service uses artificial intelligence to process Your Content for features including transcription, chapter generation, and search. This processing is carried out solely to provide the Service to you and is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy. Your Content is not used to train AI models.
12. Intellectual Property
12.1 Our Rights
All intellectual property rights in the Service itself (including its design, code, branding, and documentation) belong to us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in the Service other than a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it in accordance with these Terms.
12.2 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use that feedback for any purpose without obligation to you.
13. Availability and Support
13.1 Service Availability
We will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. Where planned maintenance may cause disruption, we will endeavour to provide advance notice.
13.2 Third-Party Dependencies
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers (including cloud hosting, storage, and payment processing). We are not responsible for outages or disruptions caused by these third parties, though we will work to resolve any issues promptly.
13.3 Support
We provide support via email at support@ramble.cam. We aim to respond to support requests within a reasonable timeframe but do not guarantee specific response times.
14. Limitation of Liability
14.1 Exclusions
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:
(a) any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
(b) any loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunity, or goodwill;
(c) any loss arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control;
(d) any loss arising from your failure to maintain adequate security of your account credentials.
14.2 Cap on Liability
Our total aggregate liability to you in respect of all claims arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
14.3 Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable legislation.
15. Indemnity
If you are a business user, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) Your Content, (c) your breach of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party. This section does not apply to consumers.
16. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy at ramble.cam/privacy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
Where you use the Service to record other people, you are responsible for ensuring that you do so lawfully, including obtaining any required consents under applicable data protection legislation.
17. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services (such as authentication providers, payment processors, and AI services). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, functionality, or practices of third-party services.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice within the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and cancel your account.
19. General
19.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms presented at the time of purchase) constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
19.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
19.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
19.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
19.5 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
19.6 Disputes
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of your home jurisdiction. If you are a business, you agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms.
